Greenie Kearney and Trainer Arrington are getting along well. This will be a good dupla! We welcomed and oriented a very tired Elder Kearney, then they all climbed into the Zone Leader truck for a ride to his new area in Viana. Once there Elder Kearney got right to work. That included introducing himself on Sunday to the Gospel Principles class in Portuguese! He did a very good job and is on his way to adjusting to the life of a full-time missionary in the field of Angola!!

Farewell to Elder Manuel

It was very difficult to say farewell to Elder Manuel. He has been a great missionary. He has been a wonderful example of love, patience, kindness, faith and hard work. He will be missed in this mission! His companion, Elder Davis, joined him and the zone leaders, Elders Anhanha and Bauer for one last dinner together with President and Sister Walton. Our love and best wishes go with you Elder Manuel!

The Baptisms of Antonica and Samuel

Antonica is the wife of a member. Once they got married she was able to be baptized. What a blessing for their cute little family! Elder Eckman performed the baptisms of Antonica and Samuel, both from Luanda 2 branch. Elder Eckman was very happy to be able to baptize Samuel, another priesthood holder for his branch.

Elder Sande also helped teach Antonica and Samuel. Elder Schioser was one of the speakers. I just love how our missionaries help each other, even if it is just their presence at a baptism of another branch - Elders Tolman, Kelsey, Guente, Bene, Kearney, and Perry.

Our missionaries are always a good support to each other at their baptisms. Elder Anhanha, member Guida, Adelina, and Elders Bauer, Walker, and Kelsey were there in force. Elder Bauer performed the baptism. The only font we have is located at our Cassequel chapel. Elder Tolman helped teach our newest member, Adelina.

Being a Missionary is Fun!!

Elder Perry was transferred from Lubango and he was surprised to find several of the youth from Lubango here in Luanda for holiday. He was able to re-connect at the baptism. Elder Rainbolt had the opportunity to teach the Gospel Principles class in Viana. His Portuguese is coming along very well! We're proud of our Elders in Angola!!

More Visitors and More Trainings!

We were fortunate to get Casal Louthan to come from their home base in Zambia to teach us about Public Affairs. We are always grateful to get more of the Church tools in place in this country so we are doing things the Lord's way! We also had our first training of the seminary and institute teachers at the Cassequel building. They have one week to get prepared and we start the classes in both seminary and institute the week following next Sundays District Conference with Elder Soares.
