This was a good baptism weekend. We had 5 in Luanda and 3 in Lubango! Our missionaries are working hard and the Lord is providing new investigators every day who are truly prepared to hear the gospel! It is always the highlight for our missionaries to see their special investigators enter the waters of baptism and start the road back to our Heavenly Father!
District Leader Training With Elder Soares
Our lucky District Leaders and their companions along with the Zone Leaders were able to get a short training and lunch with Elder Soares. These leaders in the mission are ready to do a better job in their callings! Elders Eckman, Perry, Guente (DL), Soares, Rainbolt, Bene (DL), Davis (DL), Anhanha (ZL), Bauer (ZL), and Sister and President Walton.
3rd District Conference in Angola
This past weekend we held our 3rd District Conference with leadership trainings from Elder and Sister Soares and the district leaders, an evening adult session, and a Sunday fireside for the youth. It was all wonderful. The Sunday District Conference was held in a big conference room in the Hotel Talatona. The District Presidency was on hand for everything and while they held their final evaluation meeting with Elder Soares and President Walton, Elder Bauer, members and Sister Soares and daughter, Nathalia, waited patiently in the lobby. It was a very special weekend.

Welcome Elder Kearney!
We were all very excited to finally receive another missionary from the MTC in Provo. It's been over four months since we've seen that new missionary fire in Angola! Elder Kearney arrived very early, his plane landed at 4:30 AM! Right away he met his trainer, Elder Arrington, and the zone leaders, Elders Anhanha and Bauer. We served breakfast and had a training/orientation at the mission home where Elder Kearney found he had already been added to the transfer board and he was considered part of our Angola family. Welcome to the mission Elder Kearney!
Greenie Kearney and Trainer Arrington are getting along well. This will be a good dupla! We welcomed and oriented a very tired Elder Kearney, then they all climbed into the Zone Leader truck for a ride to his new area in Viana. Once there Elder Kearney got right to work. That included introducing himself on Sunday to the Gospel Principles class in Portuguese! He did a very good job and is on his way to adjusting to the life of a full-time missionary in the field of Angola!!
Farewell to Elder Manuel
It was very difficult to say farewell to Elder Manuel. He has been a great missionary. He has been a wonderful example of love, patience, kindness, faith and hard work. He will be missed in this mission! His companion, Elder Davis, joined him and the zone leaders, Elders Anhanha and Bauer for one last dinner together with President and Sister Walton. Our love and best wishes go with you Elder Manuel!
