Our first zone conference with our elders in Luanda was held on Friday, August 26, 2011. Front row: Elders Sande and Bene with President Walton. Back row: Elders Bauer, Call, Tomocene, Allison, Manuel, Nequetela, Schioser, and Ventura (Branch missionary). It was great to be back in a zone conference with our missionaries. It has been almost 2 months since we left our missionaries in Portugal. This picture is taken in front of our condominium, Arte-Yetu in Talatona, South Luanda

Welcome to Sister Walton's Blog. President Walton and I have been in Luanda for a week and it is time to open our Blog so family and friends can see how our missionaries are doing. Angola is unique and beautiful. It is Africa! After serving as the Mission President in the Portugal Porto Mission for 2 years we have a new assignment to serve in the Angola Luanda Mission Region of the Mozambique Maputo Mission. President Walton is serving as a counselor to President Spendlove in the Mozambique Mission Presidency, with the assignment to serve as a mission president here in Angola preparing the way for the Angola Luanda Mission to be organized. The first photo is of us leaving from San Francisco International Airport. The sunset picture was taken by President Walton from our apartment in Talatona (Luanda Sul).
